Product Details

A Salute to Our WWII Generation, Let Us Not Forget is likely the last documentary in Michigan about World War II. The film includes stories from 24 heroes of that great war, accompanied by an array of film footage, photographs, artist renderings, radio broadcasts and more. Through the eyes of our veterans and their children, the film portrays the profound impact of the war on their lives. It captures their stories of bravery, resilience, and sacrifice, offering a deeply personal glimpse into the experiences of those who served.

Beyond the storytelling, the film is crafted with a strong educational component aimed at informing and inspiring future generations. Filmmakers Mark Salloum and Keith Famie followed a group of high school history students as they researched WWII veterans for a personal journey unlike anything they've ever experienced. The culmination for them was marching in the local Memorial Day Parade, holding pictures of the veterans as a tribute to them and their families.
The film debuted at the Penn Theatre in Plymouth, Michigan prior to its debut on Detroit PBS on January 30, 2026. Acclaimed journalist and author, Devin Scillian is the film’s narrator. In addition, one of his original songs, “Grandpa, Were You Scared” is used in the closing credits of the film.

A special thanks goes to Executive Producers, Retired Brigadier General John Kulhavi and Carole Kulhavi, Donald Garlit and Bee Friedlander, Sally Fedus.
