After film school from Western Michigan University, Ryan started out in a fairly typical fashion: creating live municipality videos and commercials for local clients. He then went to work on “docuseries” programming for a variety of major networks. Rather than continue following the typical path of many aspiring filmmakers, Ryan harnesses techniques from past jobs to create compelling imagery by shaping light and direction. As filmmaking has evolved through the years, he has continued to learn and adapt new techniques for producing heartwarming stories.
